Central Harrogate restaurant sold by Christie & Co

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has sold The Golden Coin restaurant in Harrogate. The restaurant is located on the popular Station Parade in central Harrogate, close to the theatre and the main railway station.

The previous owner had successfully run the restaurant as a Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant for several years. Recently, the family decided to take on new opportunities and put the freehold of the building on the market. The new owner, Cindy Cheung, owns the well established Royal Baths Chinese Restaurant in Harrogate, and plans on refurbishing the business before reopening in the near future.

Oliver Brown, Business Agent at Christie & Co who handled the sale comments, “Following a targeted sales campaign we sold the Golden Coin to a local operator. Despite local press about the difficulties facing existing businesses, we still have plenty of demand for Harrogate sites.

“The key to this sale was realistic pricing advice and our connections with local operators. We were also able to connect the parties involved with legal and financial advisors, as well as planning specialists, ensuring everything went smoothly.

“Christie & Co has been at the heart of business transactions in Harrogate over the last year including Square Bar & Restaurant and Catwalk Cafe. Location is still key in the current market, and Christie & Co’s connections with local and regional buyers continue to create quick sales to fully funded buyers.

“We were delighted to have helped the previous owners achieve their aim to move on and wish them all the best for the future.”
