Carnoustie Hotel for sale through Christie & Co

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has been instructed to sell the Aboukir Hotel on Ireland Street in Carnoustie. The current owners have decided to sell the property to concentrate on other business interests.

The Aboukir Hotel is a small, town centre hotel popular amongst locals and visitors alike, with 7 en suite rooms overlooking the coastline and the North Sea. The property also includes a restaurant, lounge bar and quaint beer garden, providing multiple streams of income.  It presents a fantastic opportunity for the new owners to host visitors during the British Open Golf Championship at the Carnoustie Links in July 2018.

Stuart Drysdale, Associate Director at Christie & Co’s office in Glasgow, comments; “This is a rare opportunity for a new operator to take on a well established business, being sold as a going concern with full complement of staff, requiring very little capital expenditure.

“The local area boasts many of the top golf courses in the UK with Carnoustie, one of the toughest links courses in Scotland, hosting the British Open Golf Championship in the summer of 2018. This obviously brings a huge influx of tourists and golf enthusiasts to the town, and will give the new owners a real boost to start off their tenure.”

The freehold of the Aboukir Hotel is on the market at an asking price of £585,000.
