Located a short walk from the Daventry campus of Northampton College, The Grange is a freehold, lock-up convenience store centred at the heart of the community. They have recently introduced the National Lottery which has seen an increase in footfall accompanied by growing local support and subsequent turnover. The store benefits from chillers, display shelving and two central gondolas, allowing a wider range of stock then might be otherwise expected in a small community convenience store.  The business trades seven days per week, 8am – 8pm Monday to Saturday and 10am – 6pm on a Sunday.

Now looking to retire, the current owners approached Stephen Bell, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co to handle the sale. They comment, "After a few years abroad my wife and I returned to the UK to be closer to our daughters and grandchild. We decided we wanted to be independent and work for ourselves and as we explored a variety of businesses The Grange Convenience Store caught our attention. A small local store, at the heart of a warm and friendly community, which sadly had to close down as the previous owner was unable to keep it going due to personal reasons. We immediately saw the potential and took a leap, investing in re-opening this lovely shop."

“It’s been a fantastic journey and we have got her back on her feet successfully. The shop is profitable, and we have enjoyed the freedom it has allowed us in working for ourselves. We have a loyal customer base and many opportunities for growth. As our life back in the UK has moved on and changed with the shop keeping us busy, so too have the lives of our daughters. They have married, moved abroad and we have more grandchildren on the way. The time has come for us to give more of our time to them and be able to travel regularly. We hope to find our shop a new owner who will enjoy giving as much time and care to it as we have and reap the rewards it brings."

Stephen commented on the sale, saying, "This is a great opportunity to take on a store that is continuing to grow, and offers a new owner the potential to continue to build on the existing business."

The business is being marketed at £200,000 for the freehold interest.
