Roche Pharmacy is a community pharmacy which dispenses an average of 7,000 items per month and offers an array of over the counter products. The business also benefits from additional income from a Post Office counter.
The business occupies a former village hall which dates back to 1887 and overlooks the main road in the beautiful village of Roche in central Cornwall. The local village surgery, Clays Practice, is conveniently located close by to Roche Pharmacy, on Victoria Road. The village also has a number of public houses, takeaways, a convenience store and a Co-op food shop along with a care/residential home, all of which contribute to the business’s healthy footfall.
Roche Pharmacy was previously owned and remotely managed by Mr Muhammad Usman Shafique of U-Chem Private Limited who is based in Manchester and who decided to sell the business in order to pursue business locally which includes an existing community pharmacy.
The business has been purchased by Mr Sarbjit Singh, who already owns Banns Pharmacy close by in St Dennis with his wife Amandip, and decided that they had the capacity to manage and own a second business.
Jonathan Board, Director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “When we initially put Roche Pharmacy on the open market, we had a number of people looking at the business as a potential lifestyle change. Sarbjit was quick to see the opportunity of acquiring a second business in the area, having already made the leap the previous year when he relocated from London to Cornwall. I am certain they will make a success of this business due to their hands-on approach.”
Roche Pharmacy was sold off an asking price of £500,000.
