Pines Trees Hotel in Pitlochry gains experienced new owners
The Pine Trees Hotel in Pitlochry, located close to the River Tummel in Perthshire, has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co to local, experienced private operators.
The Pine Trees is a valuable property portfolio, which includes the main hotel, Coach House apartments and the Gate House Lodge, set in 10 acres of mature woodland and gardens. The substantial 4-star hotel, which offers 20 en suite guest bedrooms, occupies a characterful Victorian mansion. A further six en suite apartments are provided in the Coach House, and the Gate House Lodge is a self-contained three-bedroom property. Also featured on the grounds is a separate private residential property which sits adjacent to the main hotel building, providing ideal accommodation for the owners.
Built in 1892, the main hotel building has undergone recent refurbishment, boasting a high-quality finish throughout, adding to the business’ enviable reputation.
The Pine Trees was privately owned and operated by the previous owners Mr & Mrs Kerr, for a number of years, who have built up an impressive and established business in the town, concentrating on the guests’ experience and regularly upgrading the property with a new breakfast buffet added last year.
The new owners, Major James Barlow and his wife Anne, are experienced in the sector, having previously owned and operated the Royal Ettrick Hotel in Edinburgh, which they sold in 2017.
Stuart Drysdale, Director at Christie & Co who is handling the sale comments, “It was a pleasure handling the sale of this impressive hotel and we wish the new owners every success with their new venture.”
The hotel and residential property sold off an asking price of £2.4 million.
