The Hadrian has been owned and operated for many years by experienced hotelier David Lindsay, who lives close by. He has sold the business in order to pursue his well earned retirement.

The buyers are Andy and Susan Smith, who also run The Red Lion at Newbrough and The Twice Brewed Inn near Bardon Mill.  They intend to invest in the re-modelling and refurbishment of the building, both internally and externally.

With six letting bedrooms, a traditional style bar/lounge and a 40-cover restaurant, the business was popular and particularly well known to those who travel between Hexham and Chollerford.

Mark Worley, Director in Christie & Co’s Newcastle office comments, “Those who are familiar with the area will be aware that Andy and Susan took over The Twice Brewed Inn through Christie & Co back in 2015 and have since transformed the venue into one of the finest coaching inns/hotels in the county.

“They plan to do the same with The Hadrian Hotel, which is great news for the locals of Wall and for the residents across the wider area and we wish them all the success in this venture.”
