Situated in the seaside town of Sandown, the hotel occupies a premium seafront position on the promenade, with direct access onto the town’s golden beach and stunning views across Sandown Bay. Sandown appears regularly at the top of the ‘UK's Sunshine League’, a list of the country’s sunniest spots and boasts its own pier complete with a fun fair, various amusements and variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. The island attracts around two million visitors each year.

The building has been consistently refurbished and updated since it was converted into a hotel in the 1930s. Recent improvements have included double glazing, zoned central heating and refurbishments to all of the 88 well-appointed rooms. On the ground floor, all the public rooms have been redecorated and boast panoramic sea views across Sandown Bay.

A key feature of the hotel is the ballroom, the island’s largest, which comes alive in the evening with live entertainment, making it the firm favourite with visitors for dancing holidays ranging from line dancing, sequence, jive, rock n roll and more.

The hotel has been in the same family's ownership for over 40 years and the current owner, Paul Moorman has now made the decision to sell due to retirement.

Paul comments, “The family bought the hotel 42 years ago and have enjoyed working in this beautiful seaside location. The business has brought us significant repeat patronage from both private and group business throughout our tenure. We have decided to retire and to hand over the successful business to a new owner to take to the next level.”

The sale of the Trouville Hotel presents a rare opportunity to acquire a well-established hotel business located in a popular UK summer staycation spot, which offers a range of attractions and activities for the whole family. It currently trades for most of the year, from the second week in February through to New Year, on mainly on a half board short-break basis to selected groups.

Ed Bellfield, Regional Director at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments, “with the rise in demand for seaside resort led staycations in 2020 and forward bookings for 2021 increasing, there are significant opportunities for an owner operator/investor to develop this business to the wider private market. The hotel has an unrivalled sea front position which will attract a wide range of buyers from single asset purchasers to multiple operators looking to add profitable businesses to their portfolios. We anticipate increased levels of interest from both domestic and international investors and operators.”

The Trouville Hotel is on the market with a guide price of £2,975,000 for the freehold.
