An opportunity to take on an exceptional pub business in the quaint East Devon village of Kilmington has been brought to the market by specialist property adviser Christie + Co.

The Old Inn is a delightfully picturesque Grade II listed country pub with a thatched roof, traditional interior and a welcoming atmosphere.

Superbly situated on the A35 rising out of Axminster toward Honiton, the highly-regarded pub comprises a bar area, snug, restaurant, large external beer garden, skittle alley and car park.

The property also benefits from a spacious owner's accommodation comprising three double bedrooms, a large living room/dining area, kitchen and bathroom.

Since the current leasehold owners, Duncan and Leigh Colvin, took over The Old Inn in the summer of 2007, the business has gone from strength to strength winning a clutch of awards including Taste of the West Gold Award 2014 and 2015; Cask Marque recognition; inclusion in the Good Beer Guide each year including 2015 and the AA Good Pub Guide 2013 – 2015.

Now into their eighth year at The Old Inn, the husband-and-wife team have decided that it is time to move on to pastures new and have appointed Christie + Co to sell the business.

Stephen Champion of Christie + Co’s Exeter office is handling the sale, he comments: “The Old Inn is already a successful and firmly established business, however ample opportunity exists for a new hands-on operator to increase trade.”

“The Old Inn occupies a superb trading position in an excellent location which attracts many repeat visitors and we are confident that the business will attract significant interest from potential purchasers.”

Christie + Co is seeking offers of £95,000 for the private, free-of-tie leasehold interest in The Old Inn.
