Owned and operated by Richard Jeffrey for 15 years, the Ardvasar Hotel, which dates back to the 1800s, is a 10-bedroom hotel on the south coast of the largest of the Inner Hebridean islands.

After 40 years in hospitality, Richard now wishes to retire, and has appointed specialist business property adviser Christie & Co to sell the hotel.

Located in the Garden of Skye, the hotel overlooks the Sound of Sleat with a view out to the stunning Knoydart Mountains beyond. The Ardvasar Hotel is situated 800m from Armadale Pier and is ideally located for the regular visitors who come to the area to enjoy the local hill walking, sailing and fishing attractions.

The Ardvasar, which is renowned for its Scottish cuisine, including locally-caught seafood, game and Aberdeen Angus beef, also has a popular bar with an excellent local reputation, and includes an owner’s or manager’s apartment.

Stuart Drysdale, Associate Director at Christie & Co is handling the sale and said, “The Ardvasar Hotel presents an excellent opportunity for a purchaser to take on a well-established business with good reputation and consistent turnover and profit levels. The hotel currently opens all year round and is frequented by UK and international visitors and also benefits from regular local trade, with the student population of the nearby Gaelic college utilizing the premises as a social base.

“Skye has always been a popular destination for visitors to Scotland and hotel trade is strong on the island. Visitors come for the stunning scenery, natural wildlife and the island is extremely popular with hill walkers. We anticipate high levels of demand for the business from both UK and International buyers, given the impressive trading pattern of the business coupled with the outstanding surrounding scenery.”

The Ardvasar Hotel is on the market on a freehold basis at an asking price of £825,000.
