Consultant (CDI) - Consultancy & Valuation - Paris
Purpose of the Role
This role forms an integral part of the Christie & Co Hotels Team in France and across our European offices since it will support the Consultancy & Valuation Team with comprehensive research, data analysis and data tools across a wide range of general socio-economic, real estate and hotel market topics.
This diverse role will extend beyond core consultancy and feasibility projects to include the publication of press releases, market and industry focused articles as well as public presentations to showcase the capabilities of Christie & Co and secure new business opportunities. The candidate will also support from time to time the Brokerage Department in the production of marketing sales documents (pitch, information memorandum…).
The role will suit an individual with robust writing skills, an analytical mind as well as a passion for hotel real estate combined with a customer-centric mindset.
Duties and Responsibilities
Consultancy Department
- Subject focused research projects
- Market studies, feasibility studies, rent assessment, EBITDA analysis, due diligence, price advice
- Analyse the conversion of real estate assets into hotels and mixed-use developments
- Regular market and competition monitoring in order to maintain in-depth and timely market knowledge, together with selected multi-country research
- Conduct thorough market reviews in support of projects and focused industry publications and client presentations, occasionally supporting the production of commercial pitches
- Detailed review hotel transactions, financial and operating statements to critically assess the feasibility of a project
- Participation in acquisition commercial due diligence missions, and detailed financial performance reviews
- Critically and timely contribute to the preparation of market feasibility studies and valuations
- Support the Consultancy management in drafting commercial proposals and preparing client presentations
- Tackle with enthusiasm and discipline a variety of missions from research, to feasibility studies and valuations and other bespoke consultancy missions
- Demonstrate independence and initiative in undertaking projects (or parts of) and teamwork in the context of larger and/or cross-office assignments (ex: portfolio)
- Ensure responsive communication to customer requests and timely follow-up on leads (with supervision of functional/office leader)
- Pro-actively engage with our brokerage team in order to leverage their transactional market knowledge in support of our consultancy deliverables and conclusions
- Actively develop and maintain productive relationships with the Christie & Co European consulting team
- Maintenance and update of databases and critical research resources
- Initiate and/or creatively support the development of new financial models, and bespoke side-analyses
- Development of thorough, clear and client-friendly business plans, development strategies for new projects or existing assets
- Promote and physically represent the Christie & Co brand at professional events, client meetings and presentations
- Conduct business with versatile communication style, demonstrating Christie & Co’s high professional standards
Agency Department (Ad-Hoc)
- Contribute to the production of marketing collaterals in English and in French
- Support occasionally the Agency Department in the preparation of press releases, pitches and proposals, teasers, and information memoranda in close collaboration with the lead agent and Marketing Department
- Monitor the transaction market and maintain our transaction and yield database
- Analyse hotels and projects for sale providing critical feedback to the Agency team
- Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected
Working Relationships and Contacts
You will work within the Consultancy team, with close working relationships with the Agency team. You will work closely with the other departments to cross-sell business and to provide reports for pitches and client presentations. Directly reporting to your office leader (Managing Director France) you will be in regular communication and frequently working on/supporting projects under the supervision of the Head of Consultancy – Hotels.

Person Specification
Skills and Experience
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Internet) Essential
- Fluent and versatile of both the French and English language, as well as robust writing skills (emails, proposals, presentations, reports) Essential
- Knowledge of real estate and /or tourism and hotel industry metrics/ KPIs Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree (2:1 or above) in Economics, Maths, Real Estate, Hospitality
or other relevant field Essential
- (Market) Research and analytical role experience Essential
- Work experience in a professional environment Essential
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office software, with particular emphasis on Excel (financial modelling and database analysis) and PowerPoint Essential
- Advanced communications, presentation and report- writing skills (French and English), fluent written and spoken English Desirable
- Understanding of financial statements, and general economics Desirable
- Knowledge of data tools (e.g., QlikView, Tableau, Access) Desirable
