Purpose of the Role
To provide valuation services across the Retail sector with a focus on going concern convenience, roadside retail (petrol stations), garden centres and other trading assets valued having regard to trading potential. You will be a key member of the Christie & Co valuation team of experts and be expected to network with banks, investors, accountants, and operators.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Compliance with RICS rules and regulations and company policies
- Build internal and external relationships
- Develop your external network of key contacts, including operators, solicitor, accountants and other professional bodies
- Generate business using email, telephone, individual initiatives and other marketing
- Maintain awareness of market activity
- Responding efficiently and effectively to direct enquiries from prospective clients
- Surveying and valuing properties and trading businesses to determine value
- Preparing and delivering detailed reports
- Working to and achieving targets
- Cross-selling Group companies
- Using and diligently maintaining the Christie & Co CRM database of contacts, properties and projects
Working Relationships and Contacts
You will work alongside our lead surveyor and agents who form a national team of specialist retail experts. You will report to the Managing Director, whilst retaining a good level of autonomy. Our brand, company reputation and market knowledge will help you to open doors and become a trusted advisor for clients to rely upon with confidence. You will also work closely with Christie Group company colleagues to cross-sell and gain business.

Skills and Experience
• Relevant qualification / RICS Chartered Status
• A minimum of one to two years post-qualification experience
• Application of appropriate valuation techniques
• Thorough approach to valuations
• Report preparation
• Understanding Accounts and Leases
• Exceptional negotiation and communication skills
• Very strong IT skills with excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of trade sector and current market trends
• Knowledge of relevant legislation
