Wrangham House Hotel is set in the heart of the village, on a stunning circa 1.26-acre plot and comprises fourteen en-suite letting rooms. The current owners, Peter and Stacie Devos have brought the property to market through Christie & Co’s Hospitality team in order to seek retirement.

The main house dates back to the 18th century, when it was operated as the town vicarage, and now features eight of the guest bedrooms, a grand restaurant and lounge and a separate bar and lounge area which overlook the sprawling landscaped gardens. Beyond the main house there are two additional cottages, which house the remaining six guest bedrooms, including a spacious guest suite.

The beautifully presented grounds offer the perfect setting for weddings and events and the venue is currently licensed for civil ceremonies. Additionally, there is an opportunity for the incoming owner to look at further development of the site, as planning permissions have been granted for six additional holiday cottages. Alternatively, a leisure facility could be added to the estate, subject to planning permission.

The quintessential North Yorkshire village of Hunmanby where Wrangham house is located is close to Filey, Primrose Valley and the Flamborough Head Heritage Coast. It also has great links to the popular seaside towns of Scarborough and Bridlington. With an average of 1.4 million visitors each year, the area is the most visited part of England outside of London.

Simon Burbridge, Hospitality Agent from Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments, “‘I am thrilled to bring Wrangham House and all its potential to the market. Sitting in a wonderful plot of 1.26 acres, the grand main house is a superb Country Hotel with beautiful mature gardens. Planning permission has already been granted to build cottages in the courtyard, significantly increasing the revenue potential for the next owner so we expect a great deal of interest for the site.”

Wrangham House Hotel is currently on the market with a guide price of £2,500,000 for the freehold going concern.
