Specialist business property advisor, Christie & Co have brought to market award-winning independent retail group, Ansell Village Stores Limited.
The group, which consists of four convenience stores and post offices in the vibrant home counties of Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, was formed in 2002 by the current owners, Steve and Carolyn Ansell. They began trading in Meppershall, following an acquisition of the town’s local convenience store and Post Office. Over the years they have grown the company, acquiring three additional shops in Pirton, Shillington and most recently, Henlow.
The well-located stores aim to provide local customers with great service and exceptional value-for-money products, operating at the heart of their charming countryside communities. The businesses currently trade as successful community post office stores, with regular customers and plenty of passing trade.
After 17 years, Stephen and Carolyn have decided to sell the business in order to retire, they comment, “We wish the new owners of Ansell Village Stores all the best. We have enjoyed growing our business, by meeting our wonderful customers and serving the local community. It is time for us to move on to do other ventures elsewhere.”
