The pub and restaurant, which is situated in the village of Hutton Magna, a village in Teesdale, is currently owned by former Savoy chef Alastair Ross. Alastair took over the Oak Tree Inn in 2002 and has since spent fourteen profitable and successful years as his own boss, producing excellent quality food.

The pub and restaurant has also been featured in the AA Pub Guide, Michelin Red Guide, and the Michelin Eating out in Pubs Guide.

Alastair, who runs the free house pub and restaurant alongside his wife Claire, says “The only plan we had when we moved here 14 years ago was to move nearer to family at some point. We feel that the time is now right to do so. We love the fact that Hutton Magna has such a village feel, but with main North/South and East/West routes only minutes away.”

The Oak Tree Inn is a single-storey, end terraced built public house, complimented by a whitewashed stone exterior. The ground floor of the property comprises a seating area, a bar, a restaurant, and a fully-fitted catering kitchen. Internally, it is simply furnished and decorated in a traditional style throughout and features old beams and wood panelling. This superb freehold pub and restaurant also benefits from a private back garden and owner’s accommodation on-site, which provides one double bedroom, a lounge, and a bathroom.

David Cash, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Newcastle office is handling the sale and said, “This quaint village pub and restaurant presents a unique opportunity for an owner-operator to take over an already established food-led business.

“Alastair and Claire have had 14 happy years here, and have demonstrated the potential for a like-minded couple to take the reins and enjoy life in Teesdale.”

The freehold property is available for an asking price of £249,000.
