Birchlands Nursing Home in York sold to Impact Healthcare REIT plc

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has completed on the sale of Birchlands Nursing Home, in the town of Haxby near York, North Yorkshire, on behalf of Astonbrook Care Homes to Impact Healthcare REIT plc.

The purpose-built, CQC rated ‘Good’ nursing home is registered for 54 residents with 51 bedrooms arranged over three floors, accessible via a passenger lift. The home features extensive facilities including multiple lounges and dining rooms, a sitting room, onsite parking and lawned gardens for residents to enjoy.



Located in the peaceful town of Haxby, Birchlands offers an idyllic setting in a residential area with easy access to the bustling city of York, ideal for family wishing to visit.

Having been owned and operated by Astonbrook Care Homes for the last four years, Birchlands Nursing Home was brought to the market through Christie & Co as the final site in a series of disposals totalling 13 homes. Birchlands Nursing Home was purchased by Impact Healthcare REIT plc, the real estate investment trust company which focuses on UK healthcare real estate assets, adding to its portfolio of 82 care homes diversified across the UK. Impact has appointed Welford, one of its existing operators, as the new tenant at Birchlands to continue the successful trading of the home.
