Buckinghamshire country pub comes to the market

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has been appointed to market The Bottle & Glass pub in the picturesque village of Gibraltar, just outside Aylesbury.

A traditional country pub with a welcoming atmosphere and excellent reputation, the pub occupies a prominent position in the heart of the community, attracting custom from surrounding towns including Thame, Princes Risborough and Oxford.

The thatched roof and stone floors give the property a heritage feel and with a host of interesting features including open log fires in the bar (c.30 covers) and restaurant (c.70 covers), it is a popular choice with diners.  Ancillary areas include a commercial kitchen, dry goods store, staff office, beer cellar and ladies and gentlemen’s WCs whilst on the first floor are two large bedrooms, lounge, dining room/office and bathroom; ideal for a family or for staff accommodation.

Set in its own grounds, the property incorporates parking for over 30 vehicles and external seating for approximately 20 covers to the front.

Current owner Chris Hunt has operated the business for the past 10 years offering a consistently high level of service which has ensured the popularity it enjoys today but is now looking to pursue a new venture with his family.

Tim Widdows of Christie & Co’s Reading office who is handling the sale comments, “The business is ideally placed for a new owner to run themselves or under management, taking full advantage of the years of goodwill built up by Christ Hunt and we are expecting a high level of interest.”

A leasehold asking price of £125,000 is being sought for the leasehold with an annual rent of £45,000.
