Located approximately 10 miles from Canterbury, Dover and Folkestone, the manor house is split into 18 holiday apartments with 14 holiday lodges, extensive public areas including a restaurant, impressive hall and bar. Also included are leisure facilities with indoor pool, gym, treatment room as well as two all weather tennis courts and an 18 hole (Par 72) championship golf course. The manor house and 250 acre estate have been well maintained and have a particularly strong historical heritage due to its previous owner, Earl Kitchener of Khartoum, a famous English historical military figure.

The Estate has been sold on behalf of Diamond Resorts Group to an associate of  Pyrrho Investments Ltd part of the Bonds Group. This leading Hong Kong investor has purchased Broome Park with a view to reinstate it as a hotel resort under the management of Countrywide Properties.

Anson Chan, Chairman of the Bonds Group, commented “We are very pleased with the acquisition of Broome Park, its long history and connection to Lord Kitchener are particularly appealing to us. It is my intention to restore it to its former glory over the next few years.”

Jeremy Jones, Director at Christie & Co brokered the sale and comments, “Broome Park presented a fantastic opportunity for a variety of buyers as it offers potential to capitalise on the current Estate and location. We are seeing substantial interest in the UK regional market from Asian investors who have confidence in the long term UK forecast. We wish Anson Chan all the best and look forward to seeing how he develops the Estate.”

Mark Winthorpe and Andrew Walsh of Pannone Corporate LLP advised Diamond Resorts Group and Paul Smith and Harriet Clark of Osborne Clark LLP acted for the purchaser.

Christie & Co sold Broome Park off an asking price of £6m.
