The pub, which has been closed for over six months, sparked a lot of interest, particularly in the local market with many buyers keen to see the pub reopen and serve the local community. Christie & Co brokered a deal with Paul Williams, a local businessman who owns Supreme Services, who intends to reopen the pub and live on the premises with his family.

The seventeenth century detached pub boasts many original features including exposed beams and brick work with an historic central bar servery. Externally the pub has a large beer garden and play area with stunning views across the Black Mountains and Malvern Hills.

Sophia Sangchi, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Bristol office commented: “The Penny Farthing is a great pub with some beautiful historic features. I am glad we have found a local buyer who knows the pub well and is keen to retain its existing use, serving good quality food and drink in the village.

“We’re delighted that the new owner has taken this view. Although the pub sector is under a lot of pressure, last year 84% of pubs sold by Christie & Co were retained for pub use, an increase on previous years, and it’s heartening to see a much-loved pub kept for the use of the local community.”
