Family owned Hertfordshire pub sold following 100 years of ownership

Ideally positioned in the heart of the village, the popular Grade II listed pub dates back to the 17th century and maintains many original features throughout. The pub comprises a large open plan bar area for 30 to 40 guests, dining area with capacity for 30 guests and trade garden, popular with guests in the warmer months. Additionally, the property benefits from a large car park and five bedroom owner’s accommodation. 

Rupert Nickell, whose family owned and operated the pub for the past 100 years, comments, “The Green Dragon is a special property to our family and although hard to pass on, we feel that the new owner will do a fantastic job of refurbishing the property and once again making it a hub for the community.”

The new owner, who is an experienced operator, comments, “I have been visiting this pub for decades and know its importance to the village. We greatly look forward to reopening the property and welcoming the community back to continue the long proud history of The Green Dragon.”
