Fieldhead Hotel in Looe on the market through Christie & Co

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has brought to the market The Fieldhead Hotel, located in Looe, on the South East Cornish coast.

Enjoying uninterrupted sea views, The Fieldhead Hotel sits in an enviable position overlooking Hannafore Beach and occupies a three storey property believed to have been constructed in the late Victorian era, which has been extended over the years. Comprising 16 en suite letting bedrooms, a bar, guest lounge and restaurant, and an outdoor swimming pool, The Fieldhead has a range of amenities to cater for the high volume of visitors to the tourism hotspot.

Capitalising on its crowning glory, the stunning coastal views, almost all of the guest rooms have a balcony or terrace and the landscaped gardens include a decked area with seating for over 20 guests overlooking the sea.

Also provided on the site, currently utilised as owner’s accommodation, is a substantial detached house next to the hotel called ‘Carn Brea,’ which is available by separate negotiation at an asking price of £450,000.

Ideally located, the hotel sits a short walk from Looe town centre and is accessible via the main A38, making it a convenient base for visitors looking to either explore the area or soak up the South East Cornish coastline.

The current owner, Julian Peck, purchased the business in 2006 and have since put significant effort into extensively refurbishing and improving the property, creating a successful and profitable operation with a strong base of repeat guests. Mr Peck is now looking to sell The Fieldhead Hotel in order to retire.

Stephen Champion, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Exeter office comments, “The Fieldhead Hotel is located on a spectacular stretch of Cornwall’s South Coast, a real draw for anyone visiting the area. Our clients are selling due to retirement and the hotel offers real opportunity for a new owner to come in and increase the current levels of trade. We have no doubt its unique location will help generate significant interest in this coastal hotel.

“A thriving and well run business such as The Fieldhead Hotel is ideally suited to an owner operator partnership who would continue to benefit from the associated cost savings and high levels of profit.”

The Fieldhead Hotel is on the market at an asking price of £1.1 million for the freehold interest.
