The Hafod Hotel in the historic village of Devil’s Bridge, Ceredigion, is on the market with specialist property adviser Christie + Co.

Originally built as a hunting lodge in the 1700’s, the building was extended and remodelled into a distinctive Swiss Style Chateau by the Duke of Newcastle in the 19th century. The period property now serves as a traditional country hotel, offering superb accommodation in 16-en suite guest bedrooms.

The Hafod Hotel also comprises a restaurant, tea room/function room which can comfortably seat up to 100 guests, bar, large car park and extensive grounds of approximately 7.7 acres (STMS).

Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains, Devil’s Bridge village is renowned worldwide for its waterfalls and three stacked bridges. The Hafod Hotel makes an ideal base for exploring the famous attractions and has excellent access to mountain and countryside walks. The Ceredigion coastline and bustling town of Aberystwyth are within a short drive.

The hotel’s spectacular setting has seen it recently feature in the award winning and critically acclaimed BBC drama Hinterland which has attracted visitors from all over the world.

John Coggins of Christie + Co’s Cardiff office who is handling the sale, comments: “The Hafod Hotel is a fantastic opportunity for a new owner to acquire a substantial country house hotel in a location that is truly unique. The business enjoys healthy levels of trade but offers significant scope to grow turnover and profitability by improving the food and beverage offering and further developing the events trade”.

Christie + Co is seeking offers of £595,000 for the freehold interest in The Hafod Hotel.
