Built in 1577, this Tudor house is one of the oldest buildings in Cheshire, escaping the Great Fire of Nantwich in 1583.

Having been in the Churche family for over 350 years, the house was bought by Dr Myott in 1930 amidst concern that someone was planning to buy the Mansion, dismantle it and reassemble it in America.

Whilst restoring the building, the Myott family turned it into a restaurant which continued under several different owners up until 2001, when it became showrooms for quality antique furniture.

Today, the mansion remains a landmark building in Cheshire with its timber-framed exterior and many original features in excellent condition despite being over 430 years old.

Ashley Cobban, Business Agent at Christie & Co’s Manchester office comments, “This property presents many opportunities for a future owner owing to its various possible uses.

“The Mansion benefits from four large, bright rooms on the ground floor and a further five generously sized rooms on the first floor. The extensive adjoining buildings provide both large commercial space and bright spacious owner’s accommodation.  Together it is a great combination of historic and modern.

“Externally, the site encompasses 0.9 acres of land with landscaped gardens to the front and rear, and a large car park with potential for building (subject to planning).

“The buildings and grounds offer everything you could wish for with a spacious trading area in a historic property which people love to visit. We therefore expect a lot of interest so if you’ve got a business idea, it is advised that you speak to us early to discuss.”

Christie & Co is seeking £1.15m for the freehold of Churche’s Mansion. Click here for more details.
