Historic North Wales guesthouse marketed through Christie & Co

Set within the beautiful Upper Dee Valley, amongst the wooded slopes of the Berwyn Mountains, Bron-y-Graig is an historic courtyard house constructed in 1888, as the family home of Robert David Roberts, the founder of successful Welsh wholesalers Roberts & Co (latterly a part of Mace), and who was later elevated to the position of High Sheriff of Denbighshire. The property has only had three owners in the past 140 years. Following the death of Mr. Roberts, the property was inherited by his daughter Christina who lived in the house until 1978 and was well-known amongst the local community.

The main house comprises eight luxurious bedrooms with William Morris décor alongside a 22 cover dining room, guest drawing room, and large commercial kitchen. Across the courtyard, are the former stables which have been converted into a self-catering holiday cottage, providing an additional two letting bedrooms.

The business has been owned by David Cowan and Judith Sansom since 1989 and operated as a guesthouse for the past twenty years. They are now seeking a sale in order to enjoy a well-deserved retirement. David comments, “We previously operated the business as a 4-star hotel with a fully operational restaurant.
