Italian Restaurateurs acquire London City SpaceKosher restaurant Bevis Marks, located in the developing area of Aldgate, acquired by Dr Antonio Chiodo and partners
The site will now be home to Al Matarello, the first UK venture from Dr Chiodo. The new restaurant will accompany Dr Chiodo's two successful restaurants in Bologna, Italy, and will take influence from this historic and picturesque area.
Years of experience and a passion for authentic Italian cooking has enabled the international expansion of the business, and the opportunity for Londoners to sample and enjoy the exquisite cuisine that Italy, and specifically the region of Bologna, has become renowned worldwide for.
The process and development of this new endeavour was supported by Stefano Potorti and his professional consulting team at Sagitter One.
Stewart Harkness, Associate Director at Christie & Co who brokered the restaurant deal said: “This is a great location to start in the City, being close to Aldgate Station and the wealth of commercial office buildings the area has to offer. Furthermore, there is extensive development being conducted just across the road, where it is said that a new hotel is to be built. All of which makes this site ideal for this new and exciting venture.”
The restaurant was sold off a guide price of £175,000 on a leasehold basis.
