The hotel, which is located on Saint Cuthbert Street in the heart of the town, currently operates three bedrooms, although a further six are available to be re-instated by a new operator. The hotel features a traditional public bar, alongside a purpose-built conservatory restaurant with an excellent reputation.

Current owners Sharon & Neil Rice have operated the hotel for a number of years, and have now decided to focus on other business interests.

Stuart Drysdale, Associate Director at Christie & Co is handling the sale of the hotel from the firm’s Edinburgh office said, “The Kirkcudbright Bay Hotel is family-owned and operated and plays a large role at the centre of the community. The hotel has built up a superb reputation both locally and from visitors to the region due to a high-quality produce and customer service.
“It is now well-established within the town and continues to record impressive levels of turnover and profitability. We’re  looking for a new owner to take on a business which presents a superb opportunity for a private operator to take the business forward, building on the existing excellent local reputation.”
The Kircudbright area is extremely popular on a year round basis with outdoor enthusiasts including walkers, golfers and cyclists, as well as more relaxed tourists who come to the town to visit its art galleries, Castle MacLellan, Broughton House or the nearby Galloway Wildlife Conservation Park.
Stuart continued, “The hotel currently only operates three letting bedrooms, but there is scope and space to operate a further six, meaning that the possibilities for a new owner are extensive.”
Christie & Co is seeking offers in excess of £395,000 for the freehold of The Kirkcudbright Bay Hotel.
