New owners to reopen award-winning Somerset care home

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co is pleased to announce the sale of the former Hurst Manor care home in Martock, Somerset.

The home, a former Pinders Design Award winner, closed in August 2016 and has been sold to expanding Somerset-based care home operator, The Care Home Group. The group plans to fully refurbish the property and reopen it alongside their existing schemes in Yeovil and near Taunton.

The home is a Grade II listed property with various extensions and had been registered to provide accommodation for up to 36 residents in 35 rooms up until its closure, the majority of which had their own en suite facilities.

Simon Harvey, Director at Christie & Co comments, “This sale continues to show the appetite for a wide variety of care home opportunities across the South West.  The numerous others that are currently ongoing suggest that the market will remain active with a diverse range of potential purchasers, and we anticipate that this will show no sign of letting up during 2017.

“We are delighted to have assisted the previous owners with the sale and wish the Directors of The Care Home Group well with their future plans.”

Hurst Manor was sold off a guide price of £950,000 for the freehold interest.
