On the market through the Manchester office of specialist business property adviser Christie & Co, the restaurant is ideally located in the affluent Lancashire market town of Ramsbottom.  It provides 40 covers over two floors and is housed in a former Victorian gatehouse, which dates from 1857.

The restaurant has a well established client base and has been recommended in the Michelin Guide over the past seven years.

The existing owners realised their dream of turning their passion for home-cooking and entertaining into a thriving home catering business, which in turn lead to them opening Sanmini’s.   They saw a need for South Indian cuisine in the area and introduced its unique flavours to people in the North West of England with the the restaurant became the first purely South Indian restaurant outside of London.

Due to the owners having other business commitments, the restaurant currently only operates on Friday and Saturday evenings for a total of eight hours and a new operator would be able to significantly increase trade by extending the opening hours.

Ashley Cobban, Business Agent, who is handling the sale at Christie & Co’s Manchester office comments, “Our clients feel that the time has now come for them move on from the business, which they started up from scratch some years ago.  This charming little restaurant premises would be suitable for a variety of cuisines and fine dining, or possible alternate use, subject to obtaining planning consent”.

Sanmini’s restaurant is on the market at an asking price of £350,000 for the freehold interest.
