Second site for leading bristol pizzeria thanks to christie & co
The growth of the Bristol restaurant market continues in 2016 following the completed sale of the former Casamia unit in Westbury-on-Trym by specialist commercial property agent Christie & Co.
The former owners, the Sanchez-Iglesias family, decided to depart from Westbury-on-Trym to relocate to the city centre in part of the new General development.
Having generated several viewings on the site, Christie & Co secured a buyer and a deal was agreed towards the end of last year with Flour and Ash owner, Steve Gale.
Steve opened his first pizzeria at the beginning of 2015 and his wood-fired sourdough pizzas became an instant success in Bristol. Steve’s hard work paid off recently as his flagship site received the Waitrose ‘Best Local Gem 2015’ award and a stellar review from nationally acclaimed food critic Jay Rayner.
The site offers 35 covers with a separate bar area and good sized kitchen, along with a sizeable three double bedroom owners’ flat on the first floor.
Sophia Sangchi, Business Agent in Christie & Co’s Bristol office comments: “It is certainly an exciting time to be involved in the Bristol restaurant scene. We have brokered sales to a number of new entrants to the market in recent months and it’s great to also see successful operators expand into different parts of the city.
“We wish both Steve and the Sanchez-Iglesias family the best of luck with their new ventures.”
