Specialist property business adviser, Christie & Co has successfully completed on the sale of the Bower Inn, a country inn and restaurant set along a country lane on an acre of picturesque farmland in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The 18th century farmhouse was converted into an inn and restaurant complete with letting rooms in the eighties. The main bar and dining areas exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere with an exposed brick fireplace and wood burning stove, boasting a total of 110 covers. The outside garden terrace and the outdoor marquee offer function space for an additional 80 guests. The property now includes a total of 16 en suite individually designed and furnished rooms .
Previous owners Peter Starling and Candida Leaver purchased the Bower Inn through Christie & Co in 2010 when it was closed. After completely renovating the property, the duo truly transformed the business in seven years, taking in £1m net sales, adding an additional 11 bedrooms in 2015 which were built using the same materials in keeping with the original external appearance of the building. Peter and Candida decided to sell their business and retire with plans to spend more leisure time at their second home in France.
The property has been acquired by Liberation Group, whose sister company, Butcombe Brewery plan to invest in the property including an upgrade to the trade areas and will be run under management with all the existing staff in place.
