The Gamekeeper Inn in Dorset for sale with price reduction

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co has reduced the asking price of The Gamekeeper Inn, a traditional Dorset country pub situated in Charminster, Dorchester.

The pub and restaurant comprises an open plan public bar for approximately 26 covers, a restaurant area with seating for a further 40 covers, a deck area and large riverside beer garden, as well as five spacious en suite letting bedrooms. Recently refurbished to a high standard, The Gamekeeper maintains a great reputation for its excellent food offering and comfortable letting accommodation. Additionally, the property includes a four bedroom apartment situated on the ground floor to the rear of the pub, currently utilised as owners’ accommodation.

Current owners, Kim Payne and Sharon Williamson comment, “So many of our customer say that The Gamekeeper is a Tardis. We are well known for having one of the biggest riverside beer gardens, a large carpark, amazing B&B rooms, comfortable managers’ accommodation and serving the best carveries.

“This was going to be our long term adventure as the pub is located in a perfect location and with huge potential for future growth. We are extremely saddened that due to genuine reasons, which can be discussed at the time of inquiry, we now have to let our ‘baby’ go. This is a truly fantastic way of living!”

Stephen Champion, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments, “The Gamekeeper is well supported by the local and wider population and benefits from scope to continue growing the business. The business is likely to appeal to owner operator partnerships, who can continue running the pub in the same style as the current owners, while taking advantages of the various related cost savings.”

The Gamekeeper Inn is now on the market at a leasehold asking price of £65,000.
