Set within its own grounds surrounded by beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, The Boot Inn is situated just off the A40, between Witney and Eynsham and only eight miles from the centre of Oxford.

The charming pub was previously named the Britannia and became known as The Boot Inn in 1991, when it was taken over by well-known publican, George Daily. It has become famed for its extensive collection of boots and shoes worn by famous people, which George created by offering celebrities a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne in exchange for their boot.

Amongst the collection, which adorns the walls of the main bar area, guests can find the footwear of the Bee Gees, Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran, Sir Stanley Matthews, George Best, David Gower, Gary Lineker, Sir Roger Banister and Lord Coe.

The traditional two storey pub is constructed from Cotswold stone, with original interior features in the main servery including exposed wooden beams and open fire places. The ground floor trade area has space for up to 90 covers and the front of the building features a large terrace area with additional space for up to 50 covers. The site also features ample parking space.

The sale of The Boot Inn represents a fantastic opportunity for a new and enthusiastic operator to reopen the pub and build on the long and interesting history of the site. There is scope to develop the food offering, making it the go to destination pub/restaurant in the area with business coming from Oxford and several surrounding affluent villages.

Tim Widdows, Licensed Business Agent at Christie & Co is handling the sale and comments, “The Boot sits in a great location just north of Oxford and in the past has been a thriving pub known for its great food. This is a great opportunity for a new operator to bring it back to its former glory.”

The Boot Inn is on the market with a guide price of £550,000 plus VAT for the freehold interest.
