Christie & Co celebrates 40 years in Manchester

To mark this dual occasion, we are hosting an event at The Dome in Manchester on 23 July, which will bring together clients, colleagues, and industry peers to reflect on four decades of collaboration and achievements across the North West.

Founded in 1935, Christie & Co has built a reputation as a trusted partner in the acquisition, sale, and valuation of commercial properties, and, since launching our Manchester office in 1985, we have supported thousands of transactions across the North West, from North Wales and Chester to Liverpool, Greater Manchester, Preston and the Lake District.

• The Adelphi Hotel, Liverpool, sold as part of the British Transport Hotels portfolio (1983)
• The sale of Rookery Hall, Northwich, (at which the Beckhams announced their engagement), sold as part of Arcadian Hotels, to the Hand Picked Hotels group (2001)
• The sale of Lancashire-based Kindercare Childcare Centres to Busy Bees Nursery Group (2002)
• Kings Waterfront, Liverpool, the sale of the Staybridge Suites aparthotel development (2007)
• Free Trade Hall, Manchester, sold to the Edwardian Hotels group (2011)
• Sharrow Bay Hotel, Lake Ullswater, sold on behalf of Von Essen Hotels (2012)
• London Road Fire Station, Manchester, the iconic property was sold to Allied London (2015)
• The Lowry Hotel, Manchester, sold on behalf of Rocco Forte Hotels (2015)
• Wyevale Garden Centres portfolio, the major sale of 146 sites across the UK, including multiple North West locations (2018–2019)
• KidsAllowed Group, sold to Lymm-headquartered Kids Planet Day Nurseries (2020)
• MedicX Pharmacy Ltd, a portfolio of 16 pharmacies sold to Allcures Plc (2022)
• Sykes Chemist Group, the sale of five pharmacies across Bolton and Accrington (2025)
