What was your first job?
From work experience, I was taken on as a 'Saturday boy' at my local pet shop. I really enjoyed the chance to learn all the practical elements of business early on.
In a couple of sentences, can you tell us a bit about your job at Christie & Co?
I was recently appointed Regional Director in Christie & Co's retail and leisure team, to lead our brokerage activity in the North of England and Scotland. Based out of our Manchester office, I specialise in the sale and purchase of convenience stores, petrol filling stations and other retail businesses across the region.
What’s your favourite thing about Christie & Co?
The people are exceptional. There's a real sense of purpose, professionalism and teamwork shared company-wide.
What's a favourite project that you’ve worked on at Christie & Co so far?
While each deal has its own sparkle, I really enjoy the complexities of multiple site projects. With confidential marketing for these projects, getting deals secured is down to proactive selling and maximum effort.
Who in your industry do you feel most inspired by?
I know a prolific client still actively doing business in his 80s, and I hope my own health allows this too!
Tell us a bit about your life outside work – what are your hobbies?
I recently moved close to Pendle Hill with my wife, so country walks are at the top of the list!
Where’s the best place you’ve been on holiday?
Chania - the food, weather and culture are all fantastic. I've since been back to Greece and the surrounding islands.
What news source do you read every day?
Forecourt Trader, along with all the other industry publications in our sector.
