When did you join Christie & Co?
September 2021.
Where were you when you accepted your role at Christie & Co?
In the car park of a Premier Inn in Liverpool, just around the corner from a care home I was visiting!
What was your first job?
I worked as a gymnastics coach for a franchise called The Little Gym.
In a couple of sentences, can you tell us a bit about your job at Christie & Co?
I work with the Care team and the Capital Markets team to create and implement their marketing strategies across the UK. It can be varied; from advertising, events, print marketing and awards.
What’s your favourite thing about Christie & Co?
I know everyone says it, but the people.
What's a favourite project that you’ve worked on at Christie & Co so far?
I’ve been fortunate enough to have been involved in some of the biggest projects the company has taken on in recent years, but I think my favourite ongoing project is the way we’re pushing the marketing into new arenas. UKREiiF was a privilege to be involved in this year, and I was grateful I got to attend to see the scale of the event. We’ve partnered with several new care associations and our Care Market Review for 2025 is the best so far!
What’s been the biggest challenge of your career so far?
Again, a lot of people have said it, but COVID. I was living alone and on furlough. I volunteered at my local vaccine centre to keep myself sane!
What’s been a highlight of your career so far?
I was promoted to Associate Director last year.
How has the industry changed since you started at Christie & Co?
I think the one thing that is consistent in this industry is that it’s always changing. There are so many factors influencing the markets that have a knock-on effect for buyers and sellers.
Who in your industry do you feel most inspired by?
Working mums! I don’t know how you juggle it all!
Tell us a bit about your life outside work – what are your hobbies?
I run a cheerleading programme alongside an old team-mate. We have three competitive teams, for fun classes, and recently added pre-school classes to the schedule. We compete up and down the country and our members range from three to 19 years. We’ve got some amazing, world-class coaches working for us to deliver the classes and routines and we’re really excited to be moving into a new venue very soon that will allow us to offer even more to the local community. We run as a not-for-profit so it’s definitely a passion project! Alongside that, I’m a regular gym-goer and have dabbled in amateur strongwoman and other fitness competitions.
What’s your hometown? Where do you live now?
Sutton Coldfield – and I’m still there!
Where’s the best place you’ve been on holiday?
Mexico – I’d love to go back and explore more.
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Loud chewing – I have to leave the room…
If you could live and work in any city, where would you go?
I’ve always heard good things about the lifestyle in Australia.
What would be your desert island meal?
Clams in garlic butter with fresh bread to dunk!
What’s your favourite film?
I don’t really have one, but I always go back and rewatch Supernatural and The Walking Dead.
What is your favourite movie quote?
“I love lamp.”
What is one thing on your bucket list?
Travel more, I want to explore more of the world.
What is your biggest fear?
Swimming in open water!
