When did you join Christie & Co?
April 2026 - just a month ago!
Where were you when you accepted your role at Christie & Co?
I was sat in my new house having only moved down to London a couple of days earlier.
What was your first job?
My first job was working in the shoe section at JD Sports. I had to make the most of the staff discount!
In a couple of sentences, can you tell us a bit about your job at Christie & Co?
I sit within the Corporate Communications team, working across our hospitality and retail & leisure sectors, writing press releases, blog pieces and uploading posts on our social media platforms.
What’s your favourite thing about Christie & Co?
Definitely the people. Everyone has been super welcoming and always willing to lend a hand if needed.
What's a favourite project that you’ve worked on at Christie & Co so far?
I’ve enjoyed working on our upcoming sector market reviews. They will take a fair bit of research and organisation between teams, but I think the final products will be something to be proud of.
What’s been the biggest challenge of your career so far?
Deciding to move down to London from my home in Liverpool. It was a big step, but I’m enjoying every minute of it, and Christie & Co is the perfect place to further my career.
What’s been a highlight of your career so far?
I previously worked as a local reporter for The Lancashire Post, so I got the chance to report on and meet some amazing people. I’d say the highlight was probably being at the centre of the 2024 general election coverage in my patch.
How has the industry changed since you started at Christie & Co?
I’d say news has become even more fast-paced and digital, and as the Corporate Communications team, we have to be able to react quickly to all forms of media, not just traditional press.
Who in your industry do you feel most inspired by?
Everyone in our team and wider marketing team works hard and inspires me to progress through the company in the future.
Tell us a bit about your life outside work – what are your hobbies?
I’m passionate about sports and have tried pretty much every single one, but the two I do consistently are football and running. Both have become a bit of a trend recently!
What’s your hometown? Where do you live now?
I’m a Scouser, born and bred, but made the move from Liverpool all the way to Elephant & Castle in South London. I’m really loving it!
Where’s the best place you’ve been on holiday?
I’d have to say Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. From watching football in the Maracanã Stadium to walking down Copacabana Beach, there’s always something going on!
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Slow walkers. Do people not walk to get to places anymore?
If you could live and work in any city, where would you go?
Probably Hanoi, in Vietnam. Vietnamese food might be my favourite, and I think I could get used to the weather and way of life!
What would be your desert island meal?
A large bowl of Pho with some summer rolls on the side.
What’s your favourite film?
It’s such a classic, but I’d have to say Interstellar - there’s a reason cinema still show it sometimes.
Tell us your favourite joke / What is your favourite movie quote?
"Say 'what' again! I dare you; I double dare you!” from Pulp Fiction, my second favourite film of all time!
What is one thing on your bucket list?
Skydiving, although I’d rather do it in a sunny setting abroad than in the UK.
What is your biggest fear?
I’m not claustrophobic but the idea of caving in small, confined spaces isn’t up my alley.
What news source do you read every day?
The Guardian for current affairs and The Athletic for anything sports related.
What’s your social media platform of choice?
TikTok, especially since moving to London. It’s great for local recommendations.
