Q. Tell us a little bit about your role at Christie & Co. What does a typical day look like for you?

“As a Childcare & Education Agent, I am involved in selling day nursery businesses for clients in the North East and Yorkshire. No two days are ever the same, and that’s one of the things I really enjoy about the role. Some days I’m out on the road meeting clients, while other days are more focused on office-based tasks. The variety keeps the job interesting and engaging!”

Q. How long have you been with the company, and what attracted you to join Christie & Co?

“I've been at the company for almost three years. Prior to this, I worked in valuations, but felt my strengths would be better suited to a more client-facing role. I was interested in the niche sectors that Christie & Co focuses on.”

Q. You were recently recognised as “One to Watch” by Courteney Donaldson (Managing Director – Childcare & Education). What does this milestone mean to you?

“I am very honoured. It was totally unexpected! I just try my best every day and treat clients how I would like to be treated.”

Q. What skills or experiences would you say have helped you reach this point in your career?

“I would say one of the main skills in this job is being personable; I've always enjoyed meeting and connecting with different types of people, so it's the aspect of the job I enjoy the most. I trained and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2022, which has helped on the more technical side, particularly when dealing with leases, planning matters, and other complex areas of property transactions.”

Q. Was there a defining moment or challenge that shaped your journey here?

“A defining moment for me was my transition from spending 12 months in the Pubs & Restaurants team to the Childcare & Education sector. It was a significant shift, particularly given the increased level of legislation and regulation to get to grips with. I think I’ve just about got the hang of it now!”

Q. What do you enjoy most about working at Christie & Co?

“Everyone always says it, but it truly is the people. I have never enjoyed going into an office so much as I have going into the Christie & Co Manchester office.”

Q. How would you describe the company culture in three words?

“Collaborative, supportive, and friendly.”

Q. What advice would you give to someone looking to grow their career here?

“My advice would be, if you say you're going to do something, then do it! People always remember those who do what they promise.”

Q. What’s next for you - any goals or aspirations you’re excited about?

“I am keen to keep building my pipeline and continue to develop the relationships I am making, both inside and outside the business.”

Q. If you could sum up your career at Christie & Co in one sentence, what would it be?

“My career at Christie & Co has been a rewarding journey of learning while making a (hopefully) positive impact first in the Pubs & Restaurants sector and now in the Childcare & Education sector!”
