300-year-old Northumberland Inn sold through Christie & Co

Dating back over 300 years, the property was originally an old drovers inn, and is now a beautifully presented inn with an established reputation for its ales, locally-sourced food, and charming accommodation. The inn features seven en suite bedrooms, four of which are in an adjoining cottage, as well a cosy bar and restaurant area on the ground floor.

Set in the heart of the Northumberland National Park, the Holly Bush Inn is a popular spot for tourists and ‘staycation’ guests, as well as an ideal stopover for commuters, being just a 30-minute drive from Hexham, and an hour from Newcastle and Carlisle.

Having run the pub for six years, owners John and Lynne Thompson decided to sell to allow them to retire. They commented, “We’ve had the most marvellous time running the Holly Bush for six and a bit years, but now it’s time to move on.
