Amy Woodgate House care home in Surrey

Amy Woodgate House is a residential care home registered for 44 service users. The business occupies a 2009/10 purpose-built property, which has been finished to a high standard and comes complete with all single en suite bedrooms, the majority of which have ceiling hoists for residents’ ease. The property has large wide corridors, plenty of day space and lovely enclosed rear gardens with sensory areas. It also benefits from a Day Centre bringing in residents from the local area who need support.

Previously owned and operated by The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, the strategic decision was taken by the Council to dispose of Amy Woodgate House with a structured and detailed marketing campaign and interview process in order to obtain a purchaser which would benefit the home’s residents, staff and local residents of the Borough.

The home has now been sold to Gold Care Homes which, since 1999, has provided exceptional living environments for residents across 25 care homes. The family-run company was set up by Pharmacist brothers, Ravi and Sukhi Gidar, who are both active in the business; Ravi sits as Chairman and Sukhi is Director of Acquisitions, leading all property elements of the business. The pair are driven by their passion for the care industry, bringing more than 50 years of experience between them.

On behalf of The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, Alan Howard, Director of SilverRed acting as Strategic Advisor, comments, “It was important for the Council to make sure that Amy Woodgate House was sold as a going concern and that all the staff and residents were looked after as a number one priority. After a stringent selection and interview process with numerous applicants, we are delighted to have sold the home and formed a strategic partnership with Gold Care Homes, who Kingston look forward to working with closely moving forward.”

Mr Sukhi Gidar, Director of Acquisitions at Gold Care Homes, comments, “Amy Woodgate is an ideal purchase for Gold Care Homes, and it reinforces our commitment to the care sector and residents of Surrey. We look forward to working closely with The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames and with the residents and staff at Amy Woodgate House.”

Charles Phillips, Director - Healthcare at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, adds, “A tremendous level of interest was shown during the marketing of Amy Woodgate House resulting in multiple offers. Finding the right buyer was of upmost importance to RBK and we are delighted to have concluded a sale to Gold Care Homes who we are confident will be extremely good owners and operators of the home.

“There is great demand for care homes throughout the south of England, especially within the M25, as shown by the number of offers received during this marketing campaign.”

Amy Woodgate House was sold for an undisclosed price.
