Thriving bakery in Gateshead sold for the first time through Christie & Co

The sale represents the first time Barry’s Home Bakery has changed hands since it was established in 1957. The family-run business was put on the market due to retirement and attracted interest from a wide range of potential buyers, offering fully-equipped manufacturing facilities and three retail outlets on site.
Barry’s Home Bakery has been acquired by Penny Petroleum, one of the Top 5 independent petrol filling station operators in the country and also a proud local family-run business. The business was sold at an undisclosed price.
