Darlington day nursery sold for the first time in 22 years as founder retires

Founded in 2004 by Joe Zafarani, Big Kids Little Kids is a well-established, Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ day nursery setting close to Darlington town centre, making it particularly attractive to working parents and commuters seeking established, high-quality childcare. It is registered to accommodate up to 104 children aged nought to five years, and has cultivated an outstanding reputation within its local community.
After 22 years of building a trusted and well-regarded childcare setting, Joe decided to sell the nursery as part of his retirement plans.
Following a confidential sales process with Grace Day at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by Alex and Sophie Stead, who currently have one other setting in Scarborough.
