With its elegant Art Deco interiors and enviable position in the heart of Edgbaston, this 20-bedroom hotel and bar quickly established itself as one of the city’s most stylish places to drink, dine and stay, after opening its doors in 2014. The cocktail lounge gained multiple awards for its innovative cocktail list and the rear Garden Terrace was a popular spot for drinks amongst locals, particularly during the summer months.

The property is spread across two Georgian terraces and ideally positioned on Highfield Road in the Gastro Quarter of Edgbaston Village, just a stone’s throw away from the centre of Birmingham  A further adjacent building that was recently refurbished as a restaurant is also available to create a larger opportunity. The area boasts Michelin starred and award-winning restaurants and bars, a thriving Artisan Market and mixture of niche and boutique retailers.

Six of the well-appointed bedrooms and suites reside in the main house, along with the bar and restaurant and an additional 14 rooms can be found in the adjacent building, which opened in 2019.

Charles Jones, Associate Director – Hospitality at Christie & Co comments, “The venue was forced to close during the Covid-19 pandemic, which came as a huge disappointment to the local community, so this is a fantastic opportunity for a new owner to reopen the much-loved venue and build on the success of the previous owners.”

Monique Royle, Divisional Director of Fleurets adds, “Prior to Covid-19, the business established itself as one of the flagship operations of the independent Birmingham scene. We see this as a fabulous opportunity for someone to carry on this legacy and create their own exciting future.”

Tom Foley, Asset Manager at Calthorpe Estates concludes, “This is a really exciting opportunity for someone to build on a previously successful brand and offer a further valuable amenity in Edgbaston. We have been pleased with the unsolicited interest received to date  and are confident various offers will be forthcoming following the formal marketing campaign. Calthorpe are seeking an operator that displays  a successful track record and a passion to take on these attractive buildings to create a new leisure and hotel destination  .”

The business is available by way of a new 25-year full repairing and insuring lease, terms to be agreed.
