Since it was founded in 2007 by husband-and-wife team, Jon and Natasha Kirby, Boys & Girls Nursery group has gone from strength to strength and now offers 334 places across four superb settings in Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Stanmore, and Watford. The Boys & Girls brand is highly respected across the sector and regarded as one of the leading childcare providers in these locations.
Following a confidential sales process with Nick Brown and David Eaves at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by Happy Days Nurseries, which now owns 43 settings across the UK.
Jon and Natasha Kirby, the former owners of Boys & Girls Nursery, comment, “We received a number of strong offers, reflecting the quality and reputation of our group. After careful consideration, we chose Happy Days because we believe they are the right fit for our children, families and team. Their values closely mirror our own, and we are confident they will build on the strong foundations we’ve created while ensuring a smooth and positive transition.”
Marcia Viccars, M&A Director at Happy Days Nurseries, comments, “This is an exciting step for Happy Days as we continue to grow our family of nurseries. Boys & Girls has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality early years education, and we’re proud to welcome their talented teams, children and families into our organisation. We look forward to building on this strong foundation together.”
Nick Brown, Director & Head of Brokerage – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, comments, “I’ve known Jon and Natasha for over 10 years, and we have regularly spoken about growth, market conditions and then more recently their exit strategy for the group. There was little doubt that this group would have been very high on anyone’s wish list to acquire, and this certainly proved to be the case. A very competitive process run by David Eaves and me, crystallised with Happy Days Nursery Group securing the group and adding this to their existing growing portfolio. Working with Jon and Natasha has been a real pleasure, and I’ve not come across anyone more driven than Jon and Natasha in getting things done! This sale now enables them to progress other plans which they have.”
Boys and Girls was sold for an undisclosed price.
