Award-winning residential home in Norfolk joins growing not-for-profit

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of luxury residential care home, Broadacres, in Barton Turf, Norfolk.

Broadacres care home

Established nearly 40 years ago, Broadacres is an independently owned and run residential care home that boasts both the ‘Outstanding Achievement’ and ‘Collaborative Care’ awards at the Norfolk Care Awards in 2021. It has capacity for 28 residents, and occupies a property that was converted from a private residence in 1986 and subsequently extended. Broadacres features 25 large bedrooms with full en suite facilities, welcoming communal spaces, and attractive landscaped gardens.

The home was previously owned by Mr Muir-Smith and, following a confidential sales process with Joanne Mathers at Christie & Co, has been purchased by not-for-profit, Greensleeves Care.

Broadacres is the latest home to join Greensleeves’ growing family of residential, dementia and nursing homes across England, expanding its provision in the East of England, where the group now operates nine homes including two services rated ‘Outstanding’ by the CQC. The purchase of Broadacres is part of Greensleeves’ programme of growth, which combines new built properties and acquisitions of existing services, and follows the recent opening of a purpose-built nursing home in Tooting, London. The organisation started in 1997 with 17 homes, and now operates 28 homes across England.

Paul Newman, Chief Executive of Greensleeves Care, comments, “As the newest member of the Greensleeves Care family, Broadacres will allow us to continue our decades-long charitable mission of offering high-quality and person-centred care to more older people across England, ensuring that Broadacres’ residents continue to receive the excellent care with which the home has been associated. Thank you to everyone involved in completing the transaction.”

Joanne Mathers, Director – Care at Christie & Co, comments, “We were delighted to work with Mike and Amanda in bringing Broadacres to the market and following a confidential marketing campaign, we introduced Greensleeves Care to the home.  Broadacres benefits from an excellent reputation in the area and despite the challenges in the sector, our experience shows there remains a strong appetite for quality care homes in East Anglia and across the UK.”

Broadacres was sold for an undisclosed price. The transfer of ownership was supported by solicitors, LBMW and Wilsons Solicitors LLP.
