BSB Garage

BSB Garage had been under the same family ownership since 1961 and was brought to market as a retirement sale. The business combines a forecourt with five-pump island under a Tate Oil canopy, a vehicle repair workshop and MOT facilities, extensive parking, and development potential on a 0.918 acre site, located opposite a busy supermarket.

Its prominent roadside location, strong passing traffic, and proximity to a major new residential development attracted significant interest from a range of potential buyers, resulting in over twenty offers, reflecting the competitive market landscape for forecourt businesses.

Former owner David Bennett said, “I have been considering retirement for a number of years and Christie & Co has played a vital role in making that happen. I would particularly like to thank Andy and Steve for their expertise and professionalism through the whole process and wish Myuran and Dharini all the best for the future.”

The site has been sold to Myuran and Dharini, a husband-and-wife team who operate within the petrol retail and convenience sector. They commented, “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of this site as part of our continued growth strategy.

“With over 20 years of experience in the industry, we have successfully owned and operated multiple petrol stations and convenience stores across the UK. We currently manage four other businesses nationwide, and our approach has always been centred on identifying opportunities to enhance sites so they better serve their local communities.

“Our vision for this newly acquired site is to unlock its full potential through a comprehensive programme of investment and improvement. We plan to undertake a full renovation, including the installation of new fuel pumps and the introduction of all grades of fuel. In addition, we aim to expand the retail offering with the introduction of an off-licence, a food-to-go concept, extended opening hours, and an upgraded workshop. We are also exploring joining a major symbol group and leading fuel supplier to further strengthen the store’s offering and customer experience.

“We are passionate about transforming businesses into thriving community hubs and are committed to identifying and filling gaps in the local area to better meet customer needs.”

The sale process was managed by Andy Birnie and Steve Riley at Christie & Co, who commented, “The response to BSB Garage was exceptional, reflecting both its strong trading fundamentals and its impressive future potential.  It is a testament to the continued demand for well-located roadside opportunities with redevelopment scope, and we’re delighted to have secured such a positive outcome for the retiring owners.”
