Only pharmacy in Dumbarton village sold as founding Pharmacist retires

Cardross Pharmacy opened as a new contract by Fraser MacPherson 20 years ago, and now dispenses an average of 5,000 prescription items per month. Fraser was the on-site Pharmacist working full-time and decided now was the right time to retire.
It sits completely unopposed in the village of Cardross, in Scotland. As there are no GP surgeries in Cardross, the majority of the prescriptions dispensed by the pharmacy are generated from a mix of surgeries in nearby Dumbarton and Helensburgh.
Following a confidential sales process with Karl Clezy at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by Pharmastop Healthcare Ltd, which owns one other pharmacy.
Karl Clezy, Director - Pharmacy at Christie & Co, comments, “This is the second pharmacy we have sold for Fraser after selling Garelochhead Pharmacy for him back in 2017. Fraser has worked hard in Cardross for the past 20 years, building this pharmacy up and competing with corporate operators in nearby Helensburgh, where the surgeries are. The new owners will have plans to enhance this business by increasing the number of additional services they can offer to the local community. Also, they should benefit from a builder who has planning consent to develop new homes in the village.”
Cardross Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
