Augustine Hotel, Prague is a landmark luxury hotel located within the historic Augustinian Monastery of St Thomas in the city’s Malá Strana district. The property comprises 101 guest rooms and suites, alongside a range of high‑end food and beverage offerings, meeting spaces, a library, a spa and landscaped gardens, and is widely regarded as one of Prague’s most prestigious hotel assets.
Christie & Co was instructed by Kempinski Group to provide buy-side valuation and advisory services in support of its acquisition of the hotel. The transaction represents Kempinski’s first hotel acquisition in more than 50 years, marking a significant milestone in the group’s strategic shift towards direct ownership of landmark luxury hospitality assets.
The hotel will operate as a white label, luxury hotel from 1st April 2026 until late 2026 while undergoing design-led refurbishments across rooms and public spaces. It will be reflagged as a Kempinski property from late 2026 following the refurbishment.
Carine Bonnejean, Managing Director – Hotels & International at Christie & Co, commented, “We are delighted to have supported Kempinski with this landmark transaction which will see the revival of this former monastery. The Prague hotel market is experiencing strong momentum with a resurgence in investor confidence as evidenced by the strategic ‘asset heavy’ investment made by Kempinski in the Czech capital.”
