Christie Group secure new owner to run Pucklechurch Post Office
Specialist property business advisor, Christie & Co has successfully sold Pucklechurch Post Office and Newsagents in South Gloucestershire, with funding for the buyer’s purchase secured through Christie Finance.
This freehold post office and newsagents is located approximately eight miles north east of Bristol and nine miles north of Bath. The store has been under the same ownership since 2002 and came to the market as the previous owners were looking to semi-retire.
The store proved to be hugely popular, generating a significant amount of interest when it became available. Jamie Williams, Retail Associate Director at Christie & Co who led the marketing process comments, “Overall, the business generated 21 viewings and 12 offers before a deal was agreed with local buyers, which demonstrates the ongoing demand that we are seeing for retail businesses.”
The store is now set to be taken over by Mr Sasindu Rathnayake and Mrs Charmarie Amarasinghe, experienced operators who own another shop locally. Pucklechurch PO has considerable potential, and they will look to build upon the existing success and run the business in conjunction with their current store.
