Closed Beckenham care facility set to reopen following recent sale

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of a vacant care home on Oakwood Avenue in Beckenham, Bromley.

Closed care home in Beckham, Kent

Formerly a care facility, this site comprises a substantial, detached, four-storey corner property with 12 large en suite bedrooms, some of which have their own kitchen facilities, and a one-bedroom staff flat.

Following a confidential sales process with Jordan Oborne at Christie & Co, the property has been purchased by London-based, St Martin of Tours Housing Association, which provides residential care and supported accommodation services for people with complex mental health needs to improve their health and well-being, maximise their independence and improve their quality of life.

Paul Hardisty, CEO at St Martin of Tours Housing Association, comments, “We are pleased to have purchased this Beckenham property, which we will reopen to provide much-needed housing, care, and support for people recovering from complex mental health needs. We are looking to expand and build on this acquisition going forward.”

Jordan Oborne, Associate Director – Care at Christie & Co, comments, “We receive high levels of interest for closed care homes from care operators who offer supported living and specialist care services. This property received additional interest due to its modern construction and large bedroom sizes complemented with en suite shower/bathrooms.”

The property was sold for an undisclosed price.
