This vacant setting, which was operational from 2013 to 2022, was previously owned by award-winning Shooting Stars Nurseries, which decided to sell to reinvest in the development of its group closer to its Midlands hub.
Following an open market sales process with Jassi Sunner at Christie & Co, the setting has been purchased by commercial property investor, Nine Points Property, which will let the site out to Steve Miller at Hartmore Education Ltd.
Jon Higgins, Director at Shooting Stars Nurseries, comments, “The setting was acquired in 2012 and, after significant refurbishment and investment, was transformed into Shooting Stars Gloucester. We operated for 10 years, looking after a large number of families during that period. The other nurseries in our group are located around our Head Office in Bromsgrove, which meant we found it difficult, logistically, to offer the same level of support to our Gloucester nursery as we do our others. I’m pleased to have found a new owner for the site who can develop it as a special educational needs school.”
James Blake, Director at Nine Points Property, the new owner of the setting, comments, “The existing nursery site was in a prime location, of a good existing standard, and offered us the opportunity to refurbish it into a bespoke, high-quality Special Educational Needs school.”
Jassi Sunner, Associate Director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, comments, “When you have a fantastic building fit out to a very high level with excellent outdoor space available, there is always going to be a range of interest. Owing to our diverse and vast database, we had a number of enquiries for this vacant day nursery from a whole host of different buyers. After careful consideration with other buyers, we were delighted to agree a sale with Nine Points Property who had plans in place with their partners at Hartmore Education.
“I know that my clients at Shooting Stars were disappointed to let this site go but, ultimately, it was a good business decision for the group and allowed them to concentrate on the development of their business on sites closer to their base, where they continue to thrive. We look forward to working with Jon again in the future.”
The Shooting Stars Nursery setting in Gloucester was sold for an undisclosed price.
