Cock and Rabbit

The former wet-led pub is situated on Manchester Road, within a busy residential area and features many period highlights, adding to its charm. The property includes a lounge, snug area, public bar with a pool table and games area. There is also a small outdoor seating area to the front of the property.

The pub’s previous owner, Mood Developments, initially purchased the business as part of a wider portfolio sale six years ago. They decided to sell to focus on their other businesses.

Company Director, Peter Matson comments, “Mood Developments initially purchased this pub as part of a portfolio of pubs which had gone into receivership. We always knew this one would be the most difficult to operate and we decided in the end it was better to let it go. Alex at Christie & Co was very successful in marketing it for us and rapidly, found a buyer who we managed to do a deal with and move on. Great result.”

The Cock and Rabbit has been purchased by family-run pub group, Lottie’s Property Ltd and is the third addition to their growing portfolio.

Charlotte Pickthall from Lottie’s Property Ltd comments on the sale, “We are thrilled with our recent purchase of The Cock and Rabbit. We couldn’t have done it without the help of Christie & Co and Alex, who was very professional and transparent to deal with. This is the third pub we have bought in the last 12 months, and we are on the hunt for more.”

Alex Rex, Senior Business Agent who acted on the sale adds, “I’m delighted to have brokered this deal between our long-standing clients, Peter and Ian and Lottie’s Property. Jason and Charlotte are heavily invested in growing their portfolio and making Southport a place to visit on the West Coast. I wish them luck moving forward and hopefully our paths will cross again as their portfolio grows.”
